Refund and Missed Lesson Policy
If students wish to discontinue tuition I always refund any unused term fees.
If students are unwell or are not able to attend a lesson for another reason, students can participate in their class via zoom or alternatively watch a zoom recording of the class afterwards to catch up on the class. Students are also welcome to attend a lesson on an alternate day if their class runs more than once a week.
Please be aware that I do not provide refunds for individual missed lessons.
How many students are there in a class?
The maximum class size is 12. This allows me to spend time with each student individually during the lesson.
At times there may be more than 12 students in a class, for example if there are students attending an alternate class to make up a missed lesson.
Can I get help with a Depth Study or other take-home assessment?
I am more than happy to discuss the physics involved in depth studies and assignments in a general way with my students to assist them in their understanding of the concepts and ideas involved, but will not provide written feedback on students’ drafts (i.e. tell them word-for-word what to write) or assistance that would contravene NESA’s “All my own work” policy. NESA has provided guidance on what is considered appropriate assistance from tutors here: NESA guidance on assistance from tutors.
Child protection/Health and safety
I hold a current working with children clearance (Check number: WWC0346784E). I can provide the extra information required for online verification upon parent request.
Students with medical conditions that they believe I should be aware of (in particular students with an action plan for allergies or asthma) can notify me of these using the space provided when they register.
Fathoming Physics is located in Baker Street in Carlingford, a few minutes walk from buses on Jenkins road, 10 minutes walk from Carlingford train station, as well as 10 minutes walk from local selective and comprehensive schools.
